Chapter 93
The man’s fingers were dry and slightly cool. His face, his dark hair, low chuckle, the warmth of his arms… Him and her, rubbing cheeks together… Bodies entwined, so intimate, so close.
……
Mu Hanxia felt a deep love bursting from her heart; so strong, so intense that it was about to overwhelm her whole body. It was an indulgent and unstoppable emotion, more real than any period since she had been reunited with him. It was hazy and tingling.
Then, just as suddenly, the body cooled down, so did the heart. She looked up and saw a figure, far away in the morning mist, leaving her, without a trace.
She chased after him but was unable to catch up. Although she could not see his face or hear any of his words, she felt the coldness and determination radiating from his bones.
A sharp, stabbing pain that was awfully familiar to her suddenly pierced her heart, and she felt her eyes were filled with tears…
She woke up with a start.
She lifted her head and looked around, the room was bright with sunlight. She looked at the clock on the wall:
2 o’clock sharp
She let out a breath and leaned back in her boss’s chair. It was surprising that she had slept on her back and dreamt during the short lunch break. She leaned back for a moment in silence, without much of an expression on her face.
There was a knock on the door, and He Jing, still looking a bit formal and uncomfortable in her professional sheath dress, looked at her with a smile. “Ms. Mu, it’s almost time for the meeting in the conference room.”
Mu Hanxia smiled back and shot her a teasing look. “Oh, thanks, I’ll be right there.”
….
In the meeting room
Sitting along with Mu Hanxia were a group of managers. One of them looked down at his watch and said, “Miss Mu, it’s been almost half an hour, isn’t Little Lu coming again?”
Mu Hanxia frowned and didn’t say anything.
Another manager, however, said, “Mr. Lu hasn’t come to the company for three days nor has he attended any of our meetings. Next week, our shopping mall will open, it’s not appropriate for him not to come.”
They nodded their heads in affirmation but couldn’t say anything more. Although this matter was largely presided over by Mu Hanxia, Lu Zhang was no longer in his proper position as the prince. It was not good that he suddenly dropped the ball at a critical moment. It felt like the main commander had run away before the showdown, both in terms of morale and the omens of the battle.
Mu Hanxia also didn’t understand what was going on with Lu Zhang. A few days ago, he was fine and was particularly diligent and obedient. Suddenly, he disappeared from her, not answering his phone. And he couldn’t be found either. When she asked Feng Nan, he said that Mr. Lu had gone to play with his friends for the past few days, and he couldn’t find him.
Mu Hanxia was a bit angry at that. She had just left him alone for a few days, who knew now the mall was about to open and he would not be back!
“I’ll go and speak with Mr. Lu,” Mu Hanxia said, “Let’s have a meeting first.”
—
It was a villa halfway up a hill in the outskirts of Beijing. The stars in the sky were actually much denser than in the city. The surrounding forest was deep and thick.
Mu Hanxia parked the car in front of the villa. The address was from the chairman, Lu Dong, who she had asked. When she mentioned his son’s recent rebellion, he was also infuriated and asked her to take it easy. She felt that she had the right to take care of Lu Zhang.
She went to the door and rang the bell. She heard the deafening sound of music and talking from within. It seemed that Young Master Lu was having a party, and there were quite a few people.
A young man opened the door, and judging from his clothes, he was rich. When he saw that it was a beautiful woman, he smiled. “Miss, who are you looking for?”
“I’m looking for Lu Zhang.” After a pause, she said, “I am the vice president of Fang Yi’s business division, and my name is Mu Hanxia.”
The young man’s gaze on her turned slightly curious, then he burst out laughing and said, “Oh, so it’s Master, it’s a great honor.
He said “Master” so knowingly that Mu Hanxia laughed and followed him in. On the way, they passed through the garden, the bonfire, the pool… she met a lot of people, the men and women were of his age.
To all those they met, he introduced her, “This is Xiao Lu’s master, the master is here!”
As a result, all of them called her “Master” and were very sweet. Mu Hanxi felt uncomfortable, but she also felt that these friends of Lu Zhang’s were quite interesting.
The young man took her deep into the villa. When they arrived at the door of a room on the ground floor, he whispered, “He is inside. Master, this boy is like a firebrand these days, spraying everyone he sees. You go and fix him, so I won’t touch the bad luck.”
With that, he left.
Mu Hanxia stood at the door for a while. There seemed to be voices inside. She knocked on the door.
Lu Zhang’s cold voice came out, “Who is it?”
Mu Hanxia gently pushed the door open.
It was a large living room, with a bed, a large sofa and a coffee table. Outside the floor-to-ceiling windows was a small swimming pool. There was only one light on in the room at the moment, and it was dimly lit. Lu Zhang was sitting on the sofa, looking casual but irritable, and beside him stood a girl, young and pretty.
His face was initially gloomy, but when he saw Mu Hanxia, he was stunned.
Mu Hanxia smiled, walked in, and said, “Missing work and avoiding me, just to have a party here?”
Before Lu Zhang could say anything, the girl next to him got angry and yelled at Mu Hanxia, “Who are you? What are you talking to Xiao Lu for?”
“You shut up!” Lu Zhang turned his head and yelled at her.
The girl froze for a moment, aggrieved in her heart. She had wanted to have something with Lu Zhang today, but it turned out that before she had finished speaking, he had told her to go out and not disturb him. The two hadn’t even cleared things up yet, but who knew that another woman would come in and he would protect her!
The girl thought that Lu Zhang would definitely tell her to get lost next. But after scolding her, he suddenly pulled her into his arms, hugged, and touched her on the waist. Happiness flooded her heart.
So Lu Zhang’s real temperament was so sadistic? The girl was a bit confused.
Lu Zhang lazily spoke, “Master, didn’t I tell you earlier that I can go to work whenever I want. I always do as I please. Why did you come here? Are you concerned about me? What if I can’t make it? Why don’t you just go home and leave me alone? That way you’ll feel better and I’ll feel better too.”
The girl held her breath. Mu Hanxia looked at Lu Zhang, and after a moment of silence, she said calmly, “Lu Zhang, can you have your friend go out first, so we can talk?”
The girl cast a harsh sidelong glare. “Who are you to tell me to go out? Xiao Lu—”
“Who told you to talk back to her?” Lu Zhang roared, “Whoever she tells to go out, has to go out! Get out!”
He pushed the girl away, who was so angry that her face turned white. She slammed the door and went out crying.

Dear Translation Team,
Thank you for posting this new chapter, and for bring an end to my torture. I have been dying to read the verbal exchange between Lin Mo Chen and Mu Han Xia since this is a pivotal chapter, and the machine-translation site on the web does not do a good at all. Having said that, I realized how important your translation team is to us English readers because there is NO English edition of Ding Mo’s book. I’ve looked 🙁 But if I am wrong, please slap me with the correct website and I humbly “thank you”.
A most humble thank you to you too!!! This support is like chicken blood to us. We are Ding Mo fans ourselves so will try and bring as many books of hers as possible. In the mean while, pls do puruse her compilation of shorts: https://whimsicalreads.com/series/three-short-stories/

Hello Reader,
Thank you for being here and all the support. It means a lot. And if you’ve made the extra effort to leave a comment, thank you again for it shows you care.
‘Don’t Turn From Summer’ got off to a rough start, and we are here making amends. After all, few have never faltered. That said, WR does not wish to make any excuses and takes full responsibility for quality and is in the process of righting it as we speak. The current chapter being one such attempt.
Each one is different as is their take on things. While we will love the work of the previous TL, we are well aware in the difference between our styles. So, while comparisons are inevitable, we implore you not to judge us too harshly for we too are striving to bring forth the best rendition of one of our favorite authors. But rest assured, you will have a good time reading it.
Disappointed!! What happened to the translation quality??? The previous translator had done such an amazing job and now what we have is just a poorly translated work!!! Look, I’m not trying to be mean, but this story is amazing, it has a certain depth to it. so please, please dont destroy it with lousy translations. If you cant hold a candle to the story then please drop it, someone else might be willing to translate better. I love this story, I am a huge fan of it and when i saw the update i was over the moon but what i got was an utter disappointment with poor translation. So please if you think you can’t do a better job or at least as good as the previous translator then please drop it so that someone will have a shot at it but please DO NOT destroy the story and take away its joy of reading with half-assed and lousy translations!!!
Tannie Bear, thank you. We hear you. As readers first and a translation site later, we understand where you’re coming from and appreciate your candidness. Only a good friend will tell you when your face is looking dirty, so sorry and thank you again. We think we deserve a chance at it, so please humor us while we right the wrong.
