Chapter 20: Finding a Gift
This fur, these eyes, this rhythm of tail wagging.
“Is that you? Little Master Will?” I was taken aback and reacted slowly.
“Woof, woof!”
“Why are you here?”
Why did Little Wolf Dog bring his “Little Wolf Dog” here?
“Woof!”
“Are you the gift the major wanted to give to me?” I was afraid that Little Master Will would get confused, so I decisively changed the Little Wolf Dog’s nickname.
“Woof, woof!”
I’m guessing Little Master Will didn’t understand the first two sentences, but he understood this one.
Because after he barked twice, he took two steps back, turned around, and ran forward. Then, he stopped at the entrance and looked back at me, beckoning me to go with him.
I presumed Little Master Will wanted to take me to find the gift, so I followed after him.
When I came to the end of the passage, Little Master WiIl stood up and patted the door with his front paws.
“Woof, woof, woof!”
“Do you want to go in?” The path behind this door was quite complicated. I seldom went in.
Little Master WiIl patted the door harder, “Woof! Woof!”
“Ok, ok, let’s go in and take a look.”
When I opened the door, I saw what appeared to be another world.
It should have been a narrow passage, but now it seemed as if it was endless. There was a vast blue sky and white clouds above, grass on both sides, white tiles at the foot, and white roses on both sides of the road.
I was stunned-silent for a few minutes from the surprise.
Little Master Will was so excited that he bolted right in and wanted to run to the grass. As a result, he bumped his head against an invisible wall.
I reached out and felt it. It was indeed a wall. The sky and the ground should be fake, but the flowers under my feet were real.
I slowly walked along the road. Knowing that these must have been done by Little Wolf Dog, I couldn’t help but feel a little moved.
Every day, he must have arranged these while I was sleeping.
Wuu wuu… I can’t believe I’m having such a beautiful day. I love him so much.
When I reached the end and opened the door, the wine cellar came into view but all the wine in the wine rack turned into clusters of roses. There, a book lay in the center of the flowers. I reached down, took it in my hand, and flipped through it.
The cover had a Q version1T/N: Q version is like a chibi version. of a little man sitting on the grass looking at the other side.
The little man looks a little like… Little Wolf Dog?
The first page showed the Little Wolf Dog walking down a long corridor. On the next page, he came out of the corridor and walked to a patch of grass.
The Little Wolf Dog sat on the grass and took out his book to read. Suddenly, he looked up and was surprised at the scene in front of him. It turned out to be a man who fell into the lake in front of the patch of grass. The Little Wolf Dog put down his book and ran to the lake to save the man.
My heart jumped seeing this, and the next page confirmed my hunch.
The Little Wolf Dog laid the man he rescued flat on the grass. Although the man’s face was also a Q version, I could recognize myself at first glance.
What the duck???
So, so, the one who saved me was Little Wolf Dog?
WOW——
Duck, duck, duck! I have to sigh again! What kind of play is this!
However, the story ended there. I was reluctant to put it back. So, I took it and continued to explore the next wine cellar with Little Master Will.
On the way, I met several forks on the road. I took the wrong way several times. There were no picture books or roses whenever I went into the wrong cellar.
There was nothing but Little Master WiIl and I’s impressive screams.
“Aaaaaaaaaaaah! There are ghosts!”
“Woof, woof, woof!”
Duck, not a single light was turned on in the wrong cellar.
As soon as I opened the door, I saw someone pretending to be a ghost, jumping out of nowhere!
Why do I know it was a servant?
After getting jump-scared two to three times in a row, I eventually figured out that the ghosts were not real. So, when I opened the door for the fifth time and saw no expression behind the ferocious-looking “ghost”, he noticed that I was not scared at all. This “ghost’s” attitude immediately took a 180-degree change.
He said respectfully, “Young master, if you want to go back to the wine cellar, you should take the third passageway.”
“Oh.”
“Have fun, young master.”
Oh.
