I’ve Got This Target’s Back (19)
Gu Gui took a deep breath and made up his mind, putting the last of his worries behind him. His dark pupils were reflecting the warm shadow of his lover in his arms. His unwavering brows slowly dipped into a boundless warmth, and he bowed his head to smile at him.
His rough palm from all those years of military practice approached very slowly. At that moment, Lu Chiqiu took the initiative to press his palm against his, startling him for a moment before he dismissed that feeling. The sensation on his palm was so real and wonderful. He then leaned down and kissed him deeply1MG: Gu Gui goes; eyes well up in tears Gasp! Sniffle! Lu Chuqiu is urging him on! He can’t treat him like a fragile child anymore! DUN DUN DUN.
Lu Chiqiu tilted his face up in response to his force and closed his eyes.
The dim winter sunlight poured in through the window, and the frost was separated. Instead, it seemed extraordinarily pure, stirring quietly between their fingers, covering the faint warmth on their interlocked bodies.
The two of them were comparable in physical strength. They kissed for an unknown length of time before Gu Gui straightened up at the beep of the patrol boat reaching its destination. Looking at his young wife, who was also smiling, he couldn’t help but smile and nibble at the corner of his lips in a semi-punitive manner, “Last time, you pretended to gasp for air?”
The time before that too.
Lu Chiqiu’s face warmed up. He meekly lowered his gaze, leaned in to press against his neck, and pulled his hand to admit his fault.
Gu Gui originally had no intention to be angry at him. With a flip of his palm, he wrapped that hand in his palm. Smiling, he bent down to tease him when his eyes fell on the slightly red earlobe exposed between his short, soft hair, and his heart skipped a beat, his strength easing.
–He seemed to smell something.
It was so warm and faint that it could be overlooked if you were not paying attention, but then you would notice it at some point when you were not looking.
The smell of sweet milk.
The kind that he would make in his apron in the kitchen every day, with two spoons full of sugar, hot and sweet. That would make his little wife come out from under the covers in his pajamas and wait around behind him, hugging him as soon as he turned around and asking for a kiss on the cheek.
That sweet milk.
…forgot to buy Starlight Forest Cake.
He had been thinking about it for so many days even when he almost died among the ice-armored beasts. It happened so that the lung capacity of the two of them was too great. Even after kissing for so long, none of them breathed heavily. They were automatically discerned by the suspension car as “passengers not required to disembark for the time being”, and they accidentally missed the place.
If there is milk, there should be cake.
The Imperial Marshal, who has to do as he says, was full of guilt. He hugged his little wife and kissed him. He then got out of the car, wrapping him in his arms. “Sleep for a while, I’ll go buy you a cake and be back soon, okay?”
The two of them hadn’t slept all day and night. Even he could hardly contain himself from feeling tired. Even though he knew by now that Lu Chiqiu’s strength was by no means limited to the level of an ordinary omega, he was still in distress.
Lu Chuqiu happened to have something to do so he obediently nodded and took off his clothes, shoes, and socks and then went under the quilt.
The little wife lay obediently on the bed, the soft quilt covering his jaw, his hair scattered around his ears, and the tip of his high eyebrows looked soft amidst the shadows of the dim bedroom light.
Gu Gui lifted his hand to cover his eyes, the brush-like long eyelashes swept lightly against his palm. The tickling touch made him hold his breath slightly, but his heart was quietly filled with warmth.
He wasn’t able to come back for just four or five days.
If you counted, they had only lived here for two short weeks.
He was alone in the universe, his cold mecha floating in silence, surrounded by a tide of beasts fierce enough to tear him apart. He dared not close his eyes, nor could he relax, and when his mental faculties were exhausted to the limit, his mind would conjure up this one small bedroom.
The comfortable sofa at the corner that would sink into a puddle if he sat on it, the plush, padded carpet, the warm light, the verdant plants in the corner, and the body-fitting smart bed with intelligent thermoregulating function and memory material from which he didn’t want to get up when he lay down on it.
And the person in the bedroom.
He imagined, over and over again, what Lu Chiqiu would be doing when he was alone in his bedroom, whether he would be lying on his back looking out of the window at the road, whether he would be tossing and turning in bed, unable to sleep, and waiting for him to return.
These memories and imaginations supported him so that he didn’t topple over nor he could not collapse.
He came close to losing consciousness countless times, then forced himself to stand up, then lost consciousness again, then stood up again.
Then afterward, his little wife had actually come to pick him up.
When the first army commander drove the mecha, he felt it was too flashy and had admonished his subordinate for not spending the money on modifications in the proper places. But when Lu Chiqiu drove it, he thought it looked good everywhere. The silver mecha came soaring through the air, reflecting the light of the stars like crystals and diamonds.
They had been through a lot together, and then they came back here again.
Gu Gui half-kneeled at the edge of the bed. The eyes covered by his palm were serenely closed. Lu Chiqiu lay quietly on the bed, his chest rising and falling evenly with his breathing.
He leaned over to hold his little wife, lowering his head to put a light touch on his lips. Then, he got up and stepped quietly on the carpet to leave.
It turned out that there were so many kinds of cakes.
Never having eaten sweets, he asked the robot lieutenant to help him order them every time. The first time Gu Gui went to buy one in person, he realized that there was more than just the Starlight Forest type of cake. The counter was full of samples, each of which looked delicious, and there were even ice cream cakes. With the home’s thermoregulation system, which made it too warm that they constantly wore cotton pajamas, his little wife would love to eat this kind of cake.
The cake shop would deliver one type of cake every day, just enough for the full 55 days.
Feeling as if he had accomplished something big, the rich Marshal Gu took away his share of cake for the day and left the cake shop satisfied, boarding the hovercar in the cold wind and hurrying home.
The cake shop was filled with a refreshingly sweet aroma that could easily whet one’s appetite. Lu Chiqiu hadn’t eaten much either, so he must be hungry when he woke up. It would be a good idea to go back and eat together.
It’s strange to say that he hadn’t been able to appreciate the cuteness of these things until he met Lu Chiqiu.
Marshal Gu had a rare moment of leisure and happily watched those materials all the way. He was about to arrive at his doorstep when an abrupt thought suddenly popped into his head.
At that time – how could there be a milk scent?
Thoughts that had always been confined suddenly got unfolded, and his heart beat faster, pounding in his chest.
Perhaps…he was really mutating into an alpha.
Recalling the experience shared by the first army commander, Gu Gui held his breath and his body stiffened. His Adam’s apple moved with much difficulty and he pulled out his portable light brain and tapped down word by word, “What if the omega partner in great health suddenly becomes sweet-smelling.”
The light brain was connected in megaseconds, and almost as soon as the confirmation was pressed, a sea of search results appeared on the display.
Marshal Gu, who had taken fifty-five days of leave: ……
Gu Gui, who had just finished reading the results, felt pressured and took the emperor out of the blacklist.
The Emperor was very idle and immediately replied, “Speak!”
Gu Gui stopped his hovercraft and stood at the entrance, looking at the house which seemed to have changed drastically, and fell into deep thought.
Without replying to the message, the Imperial Marshal used his prideful physical prowess to sneak into the cordon, bypassing the bloodthirsty vines that danced around hideously and nearly surrounded the entire warm and wonderful residence. Sure enough, he saw the little gardener who was diligently sowing seeds everywhere.
Lu Chiqiu squatted at the edge of the garden, planting seriously. The usual tight clothing was two buttons undone, cuffs pulled up to the elbows, revealing the small arms lined with smooth and beautiful muscles. He raised his arm to wipe the thin sweat on his head, before continuing to work full of energy.
Gu Gui was silent for a moment and connected the conversation, “Fifty-five days, will it kill him?”
“Huh?”
I can’t believe that he only started thinking about this issue.
The Emperor was stunned for a moment and thought carefully before replying, “No way? Your little omega is rather special, one that can shatter tables with his hand and drive mechas like racing boats, it should be fine for fifty-five days–”
“I know.”
Watching his little wife easily pull off an arm-thick dead branch with his bare hand, Gu Gui took a deep breath, his mood growing more and more complicated. He added with difficulty, “…What about me?2Jue: Don’t be afraid…your little wife will take care of you carefully *evil smile*“
