The Seventy-Third Night (1)
Everybody was shocked by this change. The people who brought in Feng Jing quickly pulled him away. Wang Zhen managed to break free from his hands and coughed violently, hands protecting his neck.
“What are you doing?” The man next to Feng Jing looked at him darkly. Feng Jing shook off his hand and glanced inside the room before striding in.
Wang Zhen caught hold of him reflexively, his face pale because of the excitement just now. “Why are you here?”
Feng Jing looked at him coldly and didn’t answer. The man who sent him in said, “Did you not invite him?”
“I?”
“You didn’t invite Feng Ping?”
Wang Zhen’s pupils shifted and he smiled. “He is not Feng Ping at all, he is Feng Jing.”
Feng Jing dragged his hand out and took off his mask and hat, walking over to the sofa and squatting down. “Are you two all right?”
Jiang Ran looked at him, shocked and dazed. Feng Jing saw her look like this and got more anxious, his grip tightening. “Jiang Ran, what happened to you?”
Jiang Ran then shook her head and hugged him. “No, it just feels incredulous.”
Feng Jing’s fingers ran through her soft hair and gently combed through them, patting the back of her head. “It’s all right.”
Suddenly someone applauded at the door. “What a touching reunion. I almost thought I was watching Emperor Feng’s new idol drama.”
Feng Jing let go of Jiang Ran and frowned as he stood up and looked at him. “What do you want? My cousin has agreed to Wang Zhen’s requests, why not let them go?”
“Liang-ge.” The man at the door addressed the person coming in.
“En.” Liang-ge nodded and walked over to Feng Jing. “Compared to that, I’m more curious about how Emperor Feng found this place.”
He had heard the conversation they had in the room just now. If Wang Zhen didn’t ask him to come, it meant that this place might have been exposed. He had originally wanted to take advantage of this opportunity to rip the Feng family off – Wang Zhen was the one who brought them over so if anything really happened he could push it all onto Wang Zhen’s head – but now it seemed like they should probably move all their goods here first.
Thinking of this, he was a little upset with Wang Zhen. He had allowed him to bring the two and hide here for Gao Shuang, but he didn’t expect that not only did he not get anything but also exposed his old nest.
“Zhou Xiong, ask the brothers to pack up and retreat, this place may no longer be safe.”
Zhou Xiong was the one who brought Feng Jing in. He paused and nodded, saying, “Yes.” After that, he looked at the few people in the room again. “What about them?”
Brother Liang narrowed his eyes. “Take them as well.”
Just when Zhou Xiong wanted to go tug Jiang Ran over, Feng Jing grabbed him and said coldly, “Don’t touch them, if there’s anything come at me.”
With a “hn” Zhou Xiong raised his hand to punch Feng Jing in the face. Feng Jing tilted his head, avoiding it as he folded his hand and then followed that up with a sharp kick at the other’s most vulnerable spot on the abdomen, kicking him out.
Zhou Xiong’s hand went ‘ka-cha’ and he slammed harshly into the wall, he was in so much pain that he was unable to stand for a while. Wang Zhen was stunned. He had always felt that Feng Jing was a celebrity that only sold his looks, the sort of little white-faced boy that could only swindle money from girls. He never knew that the other could really fight.
Liang-ge was also a little surprised. Zhou Xiong was one of his better fighters, yet he was so easily knocked out? “Pretty good at fighting, hmm, no wonder you dare come here alone.”
But as the saying goes, two fists find it hard to beat four hands, he didn’t believe that with so many people they couldn’t hurt the lone him.
He clapped his hands and called for more brothers. Wang Zhen watched them all gather around and frowned. “What are you doing? Don’t mess around, no one can escape if something goes wrong.”
Liang-ge sneered and said, “A coward like you dares to kidnap people?”
“I didn’t kidnap anyone!” Wang Zhen retorted loudly. It’s uncertain who he was trying to convince.
Liang-ge ignored him and ordered the people behind him. “Take them all away.”
Feng Jing frowned. Feng Ping should be here soon. As long as he delayed them until they’re here, it would be alright. He took off his coat, tossed it aside, and stretched some muscles.
“Feng Jing!” Jiang Ran stood up, worriedly trying to catch him.
But the man blocked her behind him, and said with his slightly tilted, “Hide at the back.”
“But….”
“Relax.” Feng Jing smiled at her. “The police will be here soon.”
As soon as his voice fell, a younger brother ran over, heading straight to Liang-ge and whispering, “Jie-ge brought someone over.”
Liang-ge frowned and asked him, “What is he here for?”
“He said he’s here to find a friend.”
“Friend?” Brother Liang looked at Feng Jing and studied him. “You know Zhao Jie?”
Feng Jing’s eyes shifted. Zhao Jie? Was it Yu Yao’s eldest brother?
Before he could answer, another young brother ran in, this time more panicked than the previous. “Liang-ge, they’re fighting their way in!”
As if to confirm his words, a ping-ping-pong-pong sound came from outside. Liang-ge‘s brows furrowed, and he said to the people around him, “You handle them first, I’ll go and take a look.”
As soon as he left, the rest started to fight with Feng Jing. Wang Zhen looked at the people in the room fighting and sneakily picked up an empty wine bottle in the corner of the wall, hoping to break it on Feng Jing’s head.
Having noticed it, Jiang Ran shouted to Feng Jing, “Watch out for Wang Zhen!”
