Dinner with Tang Ruanqing (2)
Tang Ruanqing looked at his pale face and asked with a smile, “The filming in Yunnan went smoothly. I heard someone say that you fell sick?” No wonder his face was even paler than before he went to Yunnan.
Shan Yatong moved to the side to let Tang Ruanqing pass first. “It’s alright. I just slept for half a day.” He couldn’t help but wonder when did the Chairman of Sky Crown Entertainment oversee a newly popular artist. Could it be that Tang Ruanqing was really going to take the friendly approach?
Tang Ruanqing placed a hand on Shan Yatong’s shoulder. “Let’s go. Seeing that you don’t have much meat, I’ll treat you to Chinese food.”
Shan Yatong looked at the hand on his shoulder and understood one thing. His superior’s good intentions couldn’t be rejected. He sighed in his heart. Fortunately, he was invited to eat Chinese food, not French food. After staying in Yunnan for so long, it wasn’t bad to properly make up for it.
The dishes in the Ten Flavors Pavilion were like their names. There were ten specialties that other restaurants couldn’t match. The wealthy Chairman Tang wasn’t stingy and ordered all ten dishes.
Shan Yatong remembered that he had eaten a private dish in his previous life and it tasted extremely delicious. Back then, to portray the character as a chef well in the movie, he had even learned some culinary skills from that boss. Now that he thought about it, it was a good experience.
Shan Yatong preferred Sichuan cuisine, so he had more of the three Sichuan cuisines among the ten specialties. Tang Ruanqing noticed his preferred dish and suddenly asked, “Do you like Sichuan cuisine?”
Shan Yatong smiled. “What would you think if I told you that I liked to eat some roast meat and drink cheap beer at some big stalls?”
Tang Ruanqing couldn’t help but associate the elegant young man in front of him with a bunch of people who were sitting on the streets in their vests and eating and drinking.
The corners of his mouth twitched. “Your hobby… is really not bad.” He actually understood a little. Even though the young man in front of him had an elegant demeanor and was once born in an orphanage, perhaps when he was young, not to mention a big stall, even having a full meal was a lucky thing. That was why he expected something that ordinary people could do.
“Thank you for the compliment.” Shan Yatong was quite appreciative of Tang Ruanqing. Whether it was his words, actions, or his brain, he felt that he was a rare rich kid. He was in a good mood because he had been freed from the grueling filming task and had eaten a delicious Sichuan dish. He was also in the mood to chat. “When I was young, when I saw others eat in a big stall, I felt that the dishes on those plates were the best in the world. Then, I wanted to make money and eat well in the future.” He laughed at this. He was obviously amused by his childish thoughts.
“Then, were you able to get a big stall?” Tang Ruanqing curiously asked.
“I got it. When I signed with an entertainment company, I got a sum of money. Then, I went to the stall and ordered a bunch of things. I invited some friends who were in the orphanage,” Shan Yatong said with a smile. “The taste wasn’t as good as I thought.
From then on, I understood one thing. The things that I had been thinking about for a long time weren’t as good as I thought.”
It was rare for Tang Ruanqing to see Shan Yatong’s smile. He was slightly taken aback and then said with a bitter smile, “At the very least, you can still know if the things you are concerned about are really good. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a chance.”
When Shan Yatong heard Tang Ruanqing’s words, he wasn’t dumb enough to ask why. He just changed the topic and said, “Chairman Tang hasn’t eaten in a big stall, right?”
Tang Ruanqing shook his head. “When I was young, I only thought about those fifty-cent popsicles. Unfortunately, I haven’t eaten it.” He shook his head regretfully. “My mother said that those fifty cents weren’t hygienic and couldn’t be eaten.”
“Corruption, it’s too corrupt.” Shan Yatong exclaimed angrily, “Back then, I couldn’t eat it because 50 cents was too expensive. In this world, the gap between the rich and the poor is an unchanging topic.”
The two of them ate a meal in an extremely harmonious atmosphere. When they walked out of the VIP room, they met a group of people walking out of the other door.
“Grandfather,” Tang Ruanqing didn’t expect to meet Xiao Youtian here. He greeted him politely.
Xiao Youtian first looked at him and looked at Shan Yatong who was smiling beside him. He threw Tang Ruanqing aside and said, “Shan boy, I didn’t expect for us to meet again.”
Shan Yatong nodded to show his respect for the elder. “Mr. Xiao, I haven’t seen you for half a month. You’ve become more energetic.”
“Haha, you’re still particularly good at talking,” Xiao Youtian said as he gazed at Tang Ruanqing. “You young people can chat with each other. I’ll take my leave first.” As he said that, he patted Tang Ruanqing on the shoulder. “Come to the Xiao family if you have the time. Don’t keep yourself busy with work.”
“Yes, Grandfather.” Although Tang Ruanqing was always smiling, he was still very respectful towards his grandfather. He didn’t put on a fake smile.
Tang Ruanqing heaved a sigh of relief when the old man left. He turned to Shan Yatong and said, “The old man seems to like you very much.”
Shan Yatong shrugged his shoulders and didn’t care about Tang Ruanqing’s thoughts. He said straightforwardly, “I hope I’m being liked and not something else.” Being remembered by such an old fox wasn’t a good thing.
