Loyal Heart (2)
Tang Ruanqing extinguished his cigarette and pointed to the sofa. “Have a seat.” As he spoke, he took out a stack of photos from magazines and newspapers. He narrowed his eyes and said, “Gu Sen actually made a move on you?”
“It wasn’t about to make a move on Yatong,” Xiao Qishen snorted coldly. “He attacked Yatong. That bastard!”
“And you attacked him in front of so many people.” Tang Ruanqing rubbed his forehead. “And you’re even making a joke about the Xiao family’s business. Zimo, I don’t care how you play, but don’t make Grandpa angry.”
Xiao Qishen lowered his head and hid the sarcasm in his mouth. Tang Ruanqing had never been close to Xiao Qishen, but he was closer to Xiao Chengyu. Xiao Qishen didn’t want to pay attention to these warnings, either. “I know what to do. He’s not just your grandfather, he’s also my grandfather.”
From the corner of his eye, Shan Yatong looked at Xiao Qishen. It was such a simple conversation, so why did he feel like a storm was brewing? Watching the battle between dragon and tiger required a strong heart.
Tang Ruanqing’s gaze landed on Shan Yatong’s unchanged expression. He casually flipped through a stack of photos. “Yatong, what do you think of these photos?”
Shan Yatong stood up and picked up two of them casually. His face was distorted and he seemed to be in a difficult and helpless situation. The delicate youth and the strong man had a sharp visual difference. He couldn’t help but nod his head in satisfaction. “The angle from this photo is very good.” At least it didn’t make him look too bad.
“I want to know where these photos came from,” Tang Ruanqing said as he held the photos in his hands. “From such a close angle, who would have the guts to do such a thing? And what about those insiders in the newspapers?”
“Chairman Tang, although I’m playing a sly fox, I’m not a true fox. How would I know about this?” Shan Yatong put the photos back on the table and sat down on the sofa.
When he saw Tang Ruanqing staring at him, he asked with a smile, “Chairman Tang is looking at me like that. Is he interested in me?”
Tang Ruanqing recalled the harmonious atmosphere when he had dinner with Shan Yatong a few days ago and didn’t want to embarrass him by saying too much. “Shan Yatong, we both understand. Why do you need to hide it?”
“Since we both understand, why ask?” Shan Yatong continued smiling. “Is there anything else, Chairman Tang? If there’s nothing else, I still have one more thing on my schedule and might accidentally run into one or two reporters.”
“Ah,” Tang Ruanqing sat back down on his leather chair and looked at Xiao Qishen mockingly. You think you’re protecting a little prince, but you’re actually protecting a dragon covered in a prince’s skin. What will you do now?
Xiao Qishen listened to their conversation and wasn’t surprised at all. He patted the shoulder of the person beside him and said, “Yatong, I didn’t know you were so good. Tell me if there’s anything I can do for you. I don’t like that bastard.”
Shan Yatong turned his head to look at him. This was the first time he had looked at this person seriously. He suddenly curled his lips and said, “You just need to accidentally tell the media that I wasn’t in a good condition when I was filming. I don’t know where I was injured, but I’ll do the rest myself.”
“That’s it?” Xiao Qishen sighed unwillingly. “I thought I had something else to do. I’m really disappointed.”
This was the first time Tang Ruanqing had seen this kind of Xiao Qishen. Seeing the two of them smiling at each other, he suddenly felt annoyed. He lit a cigarette and looked at the misty smoke. He shifted his gaze to an oil painting on the wall. He didn’t want to see Xiao Qishen do anything good to others. He couldn’t help but feel jealous because the person he wanted to give everything to had disappeared from this world. He didn’t want to see others happy. This kind of happiness made him feel bewildered.
“Alright, you guys can leave.” Tang Ruanqing looked at Shan Yatong, who was smirking through the hazy smoke. At that moment, he seemed to have seen Jing Anjue. There was clearly no one who looked the same, but why did he always have such a strange illusion? This illusion made him occasionally act, tolerate his rudeness to Xiao Chengyu, and even tolerate him being like Jing Anjue and not being hidden by him, instead of feeling that this young man was a shoddy copy.
After separating from Xiao Qishen, Shan Yatong stood in the corridor. His gaze passed through the clear glass and looked at the blue sky. He sighed. “Why…”
“Yatong, standing here and observing the sky?” A familiar female voice rang in his ears. Shan Yatong turned his head and saw that it was actually Lin Yuxin whom he hadn’t seen for a long time. From her appearance, she might have just returned from overseas. “Sister Yuxin, long time no see.”
“I heard on the plane that you were bullied by that bastard Gu Sen,” Lin Yuxin gritted her teeth. “Who the hell does he think he is?”
Shan Yatong smiled. “Sister Yuxin, what you and Brother Xiao said are the same. Don’t worry, it’s not that easy for him to bully me.”
“That’s right, that’s right. Whoever bullies a fox like you is unlucky.” Lin Yuxin lifted a strand of hair in front of her chest. It was just a gesture that made people feel especially charmed. “Those who love you… are even unluckier.” These words were so soft that even her assistant didn’t hear them clearly.
Shan Yatong’s eyes were fixed as if he hadn’t heard anything. After a while, he looked at Lin Yuxin’s back as she walked away and mocked, “Who doesn’t love themselves the most? I love myself. Am I also unlucky?”
This sentence was quite loud. Lin Yuxin heard it but didn’t turn around. The other person at the corner also heard it but didn’t show himself.
He smiled helplessly, but his eyes were filled with determination.
“I’ll let you know that true love doesn’t care about yourself…”
“Heavenly King Xiao, are you standing here pretending to be a statue?” Yang Jun doubtfully looked at the heroic-looking Xiao Qishen standing behind the potted plant. He looked at him sympathetically. “Are you lovelorn?”
Xiao Qishen didn’t say anything.
Brother Yang Jun patted him on the shoulder. “Don’t worry, I won’t laugh at you.” Alas, how pitiful. He had been hit by that black fox again. Yang Jun sighed as he shook his head and walked away with a look of sympathy.
Xiao Qishen frowned. Should he suggest to Shan Yatong to change his assistant? That person’s brain seemed to be different from a normal person’s.
