The Sixty-Eighth Night (1)
It was almost the Spring Festival, but not only did Wang Zhen not feel even a little bit festive but also felt depressive clouds gathering around.
After his part in exposing Feng Jing was revealed, not only did Feng Ping hit his businesses harder than before but also formally sued him. His and Feng Ya’s divorce lawsuit had yet to draw a close, and he was served yet another by the Feng family.
To make matters worse, today someone had reported their company over tax evasion using their real name, and the relevant departments had come down to check.
There wasn’t a need to think much further about it, this matter must definitely have Feng Ping’s involvement in it. After smashing some things in the office, Wang Zhen picked up the phone lying on the ground and called Wei Sha.
It had been a week since they last met. Starting this week, Wei Sha had rejected his invitation for various reasons, showing a strong inclination towards abandoning him.
There was a sneer on Wang Zhen’s face. There was nothing good about the Feng family and Wei family. He shouldn’t have been bewitched in the beginning and gotten involved. In the end, not only did he get nothing but also got drenched in the stench.
The phone rang for a long time but no one answered. Wang Zhen tried to rein in his irritable temper and dialed again. Fortunately, Wei Sha picked it up this time.
“Wang Zhen ya, is there something wrong?” Wei Sha’s voice didn’t sound spirited as if she had just woken up.
Wang Zhen didn’t know what sort of ghostly trick she wanted to play, and said directly, “Feng Ping has been taking action on my company for the past two days. Never mind him cutting off my business, he even reported that my book of accounts is problematic. Everybody is doing business and understands that nobody’s account can withstand being checked, he’s planning to play me to death.”
Wei Sha listened to him quietly, then coughed a few times before saying, “Who told you to provoke Feng Jing? You know that Feng Ping cares about his cousin the most.”
Feng Ping’s mother wasn’t too fit and only had one son. Feng Ping who had wanted siblings since young had always seen Feng Jing as his own brother.
At the mention of Feng Jing, the anger stewing within Wang Zhen turned a little overwhelming. He had spent five million yuan on the news, thinking it could kill Feng Jing off, but they had dealt with it so easily! He had spent it too worthlessly!
Though at least, once he’d heard that the two paparazzi had also been dealt with pretty badly, he had felt slightly better.
“I didn’t call to ask you to help me analyze Feng Ping’s motive. We agreed before that the Wei family would help me hold the Feng family back, but this is completely different from what was said! Where’s your brother? Is he planning to wait until I declare bankruptcy?”
“Ai-ya, you really misunderstood my brother.” Wei Sha put on a coquettish tone, her pitiful voice causing Wang Zhen’s heart to tingle for a moment. “My brother wants to help you too, but Feng Ping already knows what we are doing behind the scenes. Yesterday, Feng Ping personally came to the company to find my brother, and the two talked for a long time. It’s not that my brother doesn’t want to help you, but that he can’t do anything at the moment.”
“Oh, do you think you’re lying to a three-year-old? The Wei family and Feng family have been fighting for so many years, why did you go soft just this time?” He knew in his heart that, just as Feng Ya had said, to the Wei family, he was only a pawn to be used against the Feng family. Now that he was discarded, of course, they would not fight for him anymore.
But… he was unwilling to admit it.
“Then I will go to the company to find your brother.”
Wei Sha said, “Brother went out for a business trip early this morning, and may not be back until next month.”
“——” This was clearly a deliberate attempt to avoid him. Wang Zhen finally lost the usual patience he had for Wei Sha and said with gritted teeth, “Wei Sha, you wait! Even if I have to die, I’ll drag a Wei family member down with me!”
Wei Sha was startled by the fierceness in his words and hung up the phone quickly. It seems that she should listen to her dad, and go abroad for a while to have some fun before coming back. This psychotic Wang Zhen – if he really came to find her in person it would be troublesome.
She immediately went to invite her best friend forever to book tickets abroad together. After Wang Zhen threw the phone in anger again, he went over and picked it up again.
The Wei family was so determined to give up on him. He stared at the phone, scrolling through his contacts several times, and finally found that the only person who could help him might be the one who was currently divorcing him and on the verge of becoming his ex-wife, Feng Ya.
Although they had had such a row, he understood Feng Ya well. She was very loyal emotionally. The common saying goes- spending a day as husband and wife was a hundred days of devotion – if he lowered himself and begged her, she might not stand by to watch him go and die.
After making up his mind, he simply typed the manuscript in his heart and dialed Feng Ya’s number.
