Chapter 2: Crossing Over To a Shura Field
When Jing Yicheng’s gaze swept to the small hand on Xu Chenghao’s arm, his eyes were immediately tinged with a layer of gray gloom. His right hand stretched to the back of his waist to take out a shiny, black object, rotating it in the palm of his hand before striding in.
Xu Chenghao was almost drenched in a cold sweat when he took a closer look — it was a gun.
Meanwhile, An Rouyu’s quivering voice sounded from behind, “Brother Hao? What are we going to do?”
Even her hands shook as she grabbed Xu Chenghao’s arms, wanting to curl her whole body up into a ball.
Xu Chenghao did not respond, and it seemed An Rouyu didn’t need him to. Both of their attention was on Jing Yicheng. The invisible pressure weighed down their nerves bit by bit as the firm and heavy footsteps resounded in the night wind.
Jing Yicheng narrowed eyes scrutinized Xu Chenghao. As long as he dared to move, he would not hesitate to raise his gun and finish him off on the spot. His murderous intent had spread to his fingertips, so tense that it was as if he would pull the trigger at the slightest movement.
At this moment, Xu Chenghao understood — at length — the difference between reading novels and entering the world of one!
The other party was the gloomy, paranoid, and slightly perverted villain in the book but he could not feel anything when reading the written text.
However, only when said person physically stands in front of you, overwhelming you with his silent yet majestic momentum, will you truly understand what it means to face reality!
It will cause your body to react to everything consciously. You become tense and alert because of the other party, your hair stands up because of their cold breath, and your heart is afraid and uneasy because of the weapon in his hand!
When reading it all before… This entire scenario was nothing more than a brief description of a novel. In fact, you’ll even get excited — the villain and the second male lead were finally facing off in the Shura field!
As Xu Chenghao stared at the approaching villain, each step he took struck his tense nerves one after another. Once Xu Chenghao shortly came to terms with his new reality, he only became more cautious at heart.
Jing Yicheng stretched his hand out to An Rouyu. “Come here!”
An Rouyu hid behind Xu Chenghao desperately, not daring to meet the other side’s eyes at all.
Jing Yicheng turned to face Xu Chenghao, the latter returning his stare.
The gazes of the two intersected as if a silent war was taking place in the air. They glared at their respective enemy with their fiercest gaze, trying to threaten and intimidate the other.
Fifty seconds later, it was Xu Chenghao who gave in first. He blinked his eyes in defeat, feeling them sting a bit…
Jing Yicheng’s gaze and even his expression remained unchanged. In the eyes of those who possessed true strength, Xu Chenghao was like an immature cub. No matter how big his eyes were or how hard he pretended to be fierce — in his eyes, he was still a harmless little brat.
He looked at Xu Chenghao with half a smile as he spun the weapon he held. “You want to stop me?”
Still feeling uncomfortable, Xu Chenghao uncontrollably blinked his eyes. He simply lowered his head and rubbed them.
“Not really. Anyway, I can’t stop you at all,” he said in a muffled voice.
If the other party had not locked eyes with him first, he wouldn’t have stared back unblinkingly for almost a whole minute.
Jing Yicheng looked at Xu Chenghao silently. He contemplated whether or not he was playing tricks.
Xu Chenghao could feel the now-dried blood on his eyelids, guessing that he might have gotten injured moments prior.
With time running out, Jing Yicheng did not have the patience to wait, directly reaching out to grab An Rouyu. The other hand holding the weapon still hung on his side without moving.
Xu Chenghao knew very well that as long as he made any excessive movement, the other party would no doubt raise his gun and blow his head off.
The title of lunatic wasn’t just for show — Jing Yicheng would definitely do it!
Fortunately, he really didn’t have any intentions of saving the heroine. The price was too much for him to pay.
Besides, wasn’t the hero on his way already? The female lead also kept crying and flailing her arms around, trying to dilly-dally the time away.
Since it is given that the male lead will arrive soon, isn’t this a lot better than letting the villain have my two legs instead?
Xu Chenghao lowered his eyes and did not make any more extraneous movements. Jing Yicheng easily caught An Rouyu hiding behind him. Now, he was trying to drag her out.
An Rouyu was so frightened that she refused to let go of Xu Chenghao. “Brother Hao! Brother Hao, save me!! I don’t want to go with him. I don’t like him at all! ” she cried out.
In contrast to her, Xu Chenghao calmly asked, “Then, in what way can I save you?”
“Brother Hao…” She stared at him with tears still flowing from her eyes, stunned.
To be able to pass as a heroine, An Rouyu’s appearance ticked all of the right boxes. With clear and tearful eyebrows and an elegant and refined face, she was like a fragrant and beautiful blooming white lotus at this moment.
It was a weak little white flower that gave rise to men’s protective instincts after a single glance.
Unfortunately, his legs were more important than this beautiful and frail little white flower. Besides, the male lead was already well on his way over to save her, so nothing bad would actually happen!
Xu Chenghao knew that the original soul of this body became a complete fool all because of love.
Now that he didn’t even have the slightest bit of love for the heroine, it was near impossible for him to help her at the cost of his legs.
