Chapter 9.2
Life Goal
A metal skeleton that no human could possibly have!
The laughing, cold, voice of Zhao Wei came wickedly, “A human woman falling in love with a robot? A robot, actually talking about feelings? Ming Wu, surrender to me! Only by following me will you be able to escape those humans out there and live! You’re so strong, why haven’t you returned to the robot’s camp?”
Miao’s mind exploded.
So…Ming Wu…is a robot…?
Many details that she had overlooked flashed through her mind like lightning – that article she’d read on the internet had said, ‘The Ming series is by far the most iconic humanoid, combat robot, and there are only about a dozen of them on the entire continent’.
So Ming Wu was not Ming Wu, but Ming 5.
No matter how late it was, whenever she’d gone into his room, she’d seen clear eyes. On the night he’d been sick, that fleeting red light she’d seen in his eyes had not been the neon reflection from the window, but the advanced, silicon, crystal chip hidden in his eyes?
But hadn’t he been in pain? That night, he’d been up all night in pain! If he was a robot, how could it have hurt?
She blinked as he suddenly reached out, took her into his arms, and in a low, pleasant voice, with a hint of helplessness, said, “That night, seeing you almost killed my chip. It stopped working for a second.”
What does a chip stopping mean to a robot?
“It’s something that never happens. I tried all night to clean it up, and it didn’t work,” he continued. “It wasn’t until you were captured that I realized it was you that was making me lose my mind. But Miao…” he looked down and murmured in her ear, “Miao, what am I going to do? How can I, a robot, like a human?”
He held her carefully, as if handling a lost and found treasure.
“Miao Miao, I really can’t help it.”

Everything that happened after that was a blur in Miao’s mind. In her haze of tears and emotions, she could only focus on one thing – the figure of Ming 5, as faint as a pencil sketch, and as deep as a knife cut into her mind.
Ming 5 told Zhao Wei that he did not keep company with robot rebels, and so throughout the penthouse that night, the flesh and metal parts of robot rebels flew.
“I am leaving,” he told her when it was over, “to escape from the entire human community and find my purpose in life. You’re innocent, you stay here”.
And he reluctantly let her go.
When the angry human army was able to break down the door to the penthouse and unshackle Miau’s hands and feet, Miau finally cried out in pain.
So this was how it was going to be?
So what if Ming 5 had a metal skeleton? So what if Ming 5 had a control program? Ming 5 had feelings for her as well!
She looked up blankly at the broken window on the top floor of Zhao’s building, and it was as if the black figure had never appeared. It was as if he had never been in the world, never existed in Miao’s life.
Ming 5, Ming 5! You killed the human leader for me, regardless of right and wrong! You also killed countless robot rebels for me! And then you say you don’t like me! You fool! Why didn’t you take me with you? Why do you get to decide what’s for my own good? Why did you disappear? You are more meticulous and gentle than anyone else, more stupid than anyone else, stupid robot!
Didn’t we agree? To stay together, to wander the world, to find the meaning of life! Why did you leave Miao here alone? You idiot!

The ‘Ming Xu Incident’ has since gone down in history. The legendary, top humanoid, combat robot, killed a human hero to save his beloved girl, making him the enemy of the entire human race.
It had also been Ming 5 who’d killed the elite robot rebels in Zhao’s building – who had been secretly colluding with the Orc army – and thereby eliminated a huge, hidden problem for humanity.
Less than six months after the incident, Xu Miao Miao faded from the limelight and public view. It was not until a year and a half later that her name reappeared in public discourse; when she became the new deputy captain of the Human Special Police Force.
She was promoted after several victories in battles against the half-beasts and successfully defending the humans. Her toughness, alertness, and beauty made her famous throughout the city. She became surrounded by more and more suitors, but she never accepted a single one.
Another six months passed and there was still no news from Ming 5.
Something unusual however kept happening. The half-beasts of the southern city were not encroaching as much along the border after the guards kept finding the corpses of large A-class beasts there. This made the rulers of the human army secretly happy – could it be that the beasts were barricading themselves inside?
After another three months, the human army received news – the beast legions were now willing to make peace with the humans. Legend had it that the beast legions changed because they had a new ruler. The beasts had always admired strength, and their new ruler was a mysterious master from another continent.
On the night of a secret meeting between the human and beast leaders, Miao led a group of men, in charge of the outer defenses, to the meeting place. In the early hours of the morning, Miao and her men, with guns in hand, stood guard outside the building where the two leaders were to meet, awaiting the arrival of the new leader of the beasts.
The wind was light and the night was cold. In the distance, a dozen figures slowly emerged. It was a group of twelve, strong, S-class beasts, flanking their leader. Miao had never seen so many high-ranking half-beasts at one time. There were giant beasts, flying beasts, and mutated beasts, each of which was terrifyingly hideous and looked to be superbly powerful in battle.
But the one they were following was just a tall teenager.
That’s right, he was in human form. He was wearing an old, blue, T-shirt with a blurred pattern. But the simple garment did nothing to detract from the sturdiness of his figure. In the moonlight, his face was as handsome and cool as a god’s. The humans were all dumbfounded – the new leader of the beasts, was in human form?
Among the humans, Xu Miao Miao’s reaction was the most disoriented. The laser gun in her hand fell to the ground with a thud. With complete disregard for her fallen weapon, she stared straight at the young man who was getting closer and closer.
Suddenly, she waved her hand and made a gesture to her subordinates to launch. The men appeared unsure, and the deputy asked, “Boss, you want us to attack? But we can’t move to him without an order from the top!”
Besides, who would dare try to attack him? He was the boss of the beasts!
“Attack, my ass!” Xu Miao Miao was furious, “I want you to quickly surround the area, I’m afraid he’ll just walk away again!”
