The Fifty-Second Night (1)
The letter was incomplete as Feng Jing had not yet decided when to send it.
Upon hearing his sister’s views about what makes a family at the hospital, he had written that letter, but he knew that it was too impetuous for him to propose right now. And although he really wanted to end the soul exchange with Er Huang sooner, he also had to consider Jiang Ran’s feelings. He was hoping to wait for a suitable time to send the letter to Jiang Ran.
When he wrote the letter, little had he imagined that Jiang Ran would stumble upon it at such an inopportune time.
As she read the last word on the letter, Jiang Ran’s tears flowed uncontrollably. The black ink dispersed due to her teardrops, but the girl couldn’t hold back anymore.
Since staying at the Feng Mansion, she had been suppressing her emotions. She did not want to cause trouble for his family, but now she could not control her pent-up feelings any longer and needed to release them.
She held the letter Feng Jing wrote to her and burst into a second wave of tears.
Mi Xie Er, who was still packing, was startled by the noise and hurried out to take a look. He saw Jiang Ran sitting on her knees, crying hysterically as if trying to vent all the anxiety and depression she had experienced recently.
He stepped forward with the intention to comfort her but only ended up lifting his feet, turning around and walking out, even helping her close the door.
Crying may be considered cowardice, but sometimes it was necessary.
Jiang Ran stopped when she was too tired to continue. She got up from the ground, went to the bathroom to wash her face, and fixed her makeup.
After crying, one has to cheer up and face everything that follows.
She put Feng Jing’s letter into her bag, opened the door, and went out. Mi Xie Er was sitting on the sofa in the living room on the first floor, with a small travel bag next to him containing the things he had packed for Feng Jing.
When Jiang Ran came out, he stood up from the sofa, watched her, weighed his words for a while, and asked, “You… Are you okay?”
Jiang Ran knew that he must have heard her cry, but she did not feel embarrassed. “I’m okay, my eyes are just a little puffed. Have you packed your things?”
“Yes, would you like to take a break?”
“No, let’s go to the hospital.”
“Ok.”
Mi Xie Er went out to the garage to take the car out and then drove her quickly to the hospital again.

At this time, Feng Jing and his mother were staring at each other speechlessly in the bedroom.
Feng Jing was standing, his mother sitting as if they were facing off on another. How weird this scene must look!
Feng Jing felt that he was about to break out in a cold sweat, so he smiled at his mother. “Woof!” He then wagged his tail again.
Mrs. Feng‘s mouth slightly twitched, she looked at him and said, “Er Huang, why do you always hide from me?”
“Woof.” I don’t. He tried to widen his eyes as much as Er Huang would when he acted cute.
As for Mrs. Feng, it didn’t work on her. “Do you think I’m horrible?”
“Woof, woof.” Feng Jing raised his front paw to his mouth to lick it.
“Only cats do that.”
Feng Jing: “——”
Mrs. Feng looked at him for a while and then at the computer again. “You turned the computer on? I heard from Feng Ping that you went to the hospital to find Jiang Ran. You are really a smart dog.”
“——” Feng Jing felt far from good, and his cold sweat really fell after that. He decided to go out to take a breather.
Watching as he cautiously made his way out, Mrs. Feng didn’t stop him. But just as he was about to step out of the door, she called out, “Feng Jing!”
Feng Jing’s entire body shook. He stood with his stiff back to her for a moment, then turned around a little and glanced at her.
“You are Feng Jing, right? Your every natural behavior is the same as Feng Jing’s,” said Mrs. Feng.
Feng Jing: “——”
Today, his mother gave him a vivid lesson on- “No one knows a son better than his mother”.
“When you told me last time about the friend who changed into a dog, it was actually you, right??”
Feng Jing:”——”
No, Mom, how can you accept such a bizarre situation so calmly?!
But he remembered that his mother had introduced him to various Taoist masters and priests, so her calm reaction did make sense.
“What the hell is going on?” Mrs. Feng asked.
“Woof!” Feng Jing started to bark.
“——” Mrs. Feng was silent for a moment. “I have a son who’s all grown up, but now he can’t even speak.”
Feng Jing: “——”
Feng Meng1Mrs. Feng’s name went out to find a notebook, and brought along a bottle of ink as well, and put it in front of Feng Jing. “Can you still write?”
“——” Feng Jing dipped the nail of his right paw in some ink and drew on the paper.
“I don’t know what happened.” He wrote.
This time Mrs. Feng was silent for a long while as if she was digesting the fact that her son had really become a dog. “What did Master Chang Xin say?”
Feng Jing turned a page and continued to write. “He said that the timing was wrong.”
“When is the time correct then?”
“I guess when I want to marry Jiang Ran.”
“——” Mrs. Feng looked at him with uncertainty. “Is this idea of getting married… yours?”
Feng Jing: “——”
He thought about it many times, but Chang Xin did say so often.
“You were fine when I last saw you.”
Feng Jing wrote: “I used to change only at night, but I have been like this throughout the day as well ever since I got injured.”
Mrs. Feng thought for a while, tore off the pages he had written, and burned them. “It could be related to your coma. It should be fine after you wake up.”
Feng Jing barked as if agreeing with her. He just didn’t know when he would wake up.
Three days had passed when Jiang Ran found that Er Huang didn’t seem to be hiding from Feng Jing’s mother anymore. When she went to the hospital to see Feng Jing in Uncle Zhou’s car, Mrs. Feng was walking in the garden. Seeing them take off to the hospital, Er Huang also chased after her and barked.
When Jiang Ran’s car drove out, Feng Jing lay on the ground again.
